KEG & CAN CRUSHER 2025 – Cans, Kegs, & Concrete Chaos

Presented by Luke & Justin Ward | Sponsored by Soggy Bones, Shelter Brewery, Independent, Santa Cruz, and Yeti
On Saturday, 9th August, our bowl became the stage for one of the wildest skate events Western Australia has ever seen. Nearly 200 people squeezed in for the Second Keg & Can Crusher, an 18+ skate jam where the crowd decided the winners by smashing their empty Shelter Brewery cans.
The Shelter Extension
Midway through the jam, we revealed a brand-new bowl feature—the Shelter Extension—built by Brett Margaritas and Brendan Cross. This beast was made with concrete coping and six Shelter lager cans filled with solid concrete, sponsored by Shelter Brewery. Steep, unforgiving, and technical, it became the stage for a 20-minute finale where every rider threw down something insane on it.

The Bowl Jam
Six invited skaters went head-to-head for $1,000 in prize money:
🥇 Brendon Cross – taking the win in his home state by just two cans.
🥈 Zeyke Cooke – right behind him in a nail-biting finish.
🥉 Sonny Cooke – keeping it in the family.
Also lighting it up: Ethan Copeland (flown in by Independent & Santa Cruz), Vi Evans (our youngest competitor), and RJ Barbara (Aussie bowl riding champ).
The Keg Jump Record
After the bowl carnage, the Cooke brothers took it to the alleyway for the Keg Jump. In slippery conditions, Zeyke Cooke cleared 12 kegs, smashing the event record and taking home extra cash and a carton from Shelter Brewery—kept perfectly cold thanks to Yeti eskies.

Afterparty Mayhem
From there, the night exploded into live music at Old Habits Bar: Rat Salad brought the chaos from Geraldton, followed by Core Lords, Indigo Blaze to shut things down in style.
